Dr. Jeremy Orgel - Established Texas Psychiatrist and Psychoanalyst

Jeremy Orgel, MD, is a Texas professional who provides integrative psychiatry and psychoanalytic services at an outpatient private practice. He has extensive experience in mental health issues and adolescent psychiatry, and in providing psychiatric diagnostic evaluations. Since the pandemic, Dr. Jeremy Orgel has transitioned from an office-based practice in Northern California to one focused exclusively on telephone consultations and telehealth video. He continues to work with many patients on the West Coast, helping them achieve more productive, happier lives and improved relationships.

Dr. Orgel earned his BA in comparative literature at Columbia College and his MA in English and Comparative Literature at Columbia University and pursued a doctor of medicine at the New York University School of Medicine. He completed an internship and residency work at the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF). He completed his psychoanalytic training at the San Francisco Center for Psychoanalysis (SFCP, formerly San Francisco Psychoanalytic Institute (SFPI.) Launching a private practice 1994, he also accepted responsibilities as an assistant clinical professor with UCSF.

His background includes longstanding roles as attending psychiatrist and medical director at the McAuley Neuropsychiatric Institute and the Adolescent Inpatient Psychiatric Unit of St. Mary’s Medical Center in San Francisco. Dr. Jeremy Orgel enjoys outdoor activities such as hiking and birdwatching in his free time. He also likes reading, film, and listening to music.
